...Owner History
The owner of New Branch Home and Land is Fielding Darden.
Originally born and raised in the Panama Canal Zone,
Fielding came to the States at the age of 18, attending
and graduating from North Carolina State University with
high honors. Both of his parents were originally from
North Carolina so it was natural that he should return
here. After ten years or so in the restaurant business
following college, Mr. Darden obtained his real estate
license and entered the world of land sales and development.
Selling first for several resorts in the area and
then for a national off-frame modular company, he subsequently
took a job as the Zoning Administrator and Staff Planner
for Granville County, North Carolina. It was here that
Mr. Darden learned the real ins and outs of land use
and development.
While at this position, Mr. Darden met two very talented
men in the rural land sales business who took him under
their wing and helped him fine-tune his talents. For
this he is still very grateful. (Thank you Joe and
Chuck.)
Hobbies include writing and recording music, arrowhead
hunting, fishing, hunting, boating and joking; around.
Cooking-out and going to the beach with his family rank
right up there too!
His favorite saying is, "Nothing pays off like
persistence." But he also believes that if you
keep doing what you've always done, you're going
to keep getting what you've always gotten. If you
want land, go get land.
