April Prayer Emphasis: Andrew Family
Rodney and Laura, along with their children (Stella, Annabelle and Ryder) have moved to Costa Rica as missionaries with Commission To Every Nation (CTEN). The Andrews are serving alongside Iglesia Radical, a church in Jaco, and will be focusing their ministry on at-risk teens and victims of the growing sex trafficking industry in Costa Rica. Follow their ministry, Refuge 18:2, on Facebook.

pray for the Andrew Family in Jaco, Costa Rica
Fellow NewBranchers, each month we designate one of our supported mission efforts/families in particular for special prayer emphasis. (Of course that doesn't mean we only pray for the selected ones!) This month, please devote a little extra time before the Lord for the Andrew Family in Jaco, Costa Rica. Rodney and Laura are reaching the neglected and downtrodden street kids of that city with the love and message of redemption in Jesus Christ. Rodney currently disciples several young men while remotely studying toward a ministerial degree. Laura leads a women's Bible study while serving as wife and mom to Stella, Annabelle and Ryder.
The Andrews' main means of reaching out to the street kids of Jaco was through offering free job training in wood shop skills. However, the facility they once used has become uninhabitable and was insecure, resulting in theft of tools and machinery. Their local church, Esperanza Radical, has stepped in to offer another facility adjacent to the church building, and a lockable storage container to secure their power tools. However, this new location, while more secure, is also presently unsuitable for habitation.
Please pray that the Lord would protect the Andrews in their location, magnify their witness to His glory, grant them unhindered access to the ones He has selected for salvation and discipleship, and the means to resume their wood shop ministry if that is His desire. If not, pray for His guidance in how best to be most effective in the place He has chosen to put them. Pray for His strength to maintain focused and committed to His calling on their lives.
Food for thought:
A recent Barna study revealed that...wait for it...a whopping 51% of churchgoers in the United States are not aware of the Great Commission! Are you? Why does it matter? What impact does the Great Commission have on your life? Parents, are you passing this crucial mandate on to your children? (For reference and discussion with your family look up the following passages: Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:46-48, Acts 1:8)
